ADVERT ANALYSIS
ADVERT ANALYSIS
This poster is advertising the new ps4. The purple background associates itself with the light coming out of the controller. The background creates a certain competitiveness with the xbox one as the ps4 is trying to control the audience to buy ps4 .As it say the "it begins" with the new era of ps4 .This poster subject matter is new and informed controller of the ps4 which very single male in the world is excited about as they have been hearing about and reading about it and so they couldn't wait to see it.so they hit the part where they have to draw the target market.which they have in the case where 85% of the audience are males.the dark lighting in the frame creates a competitive side of the game and that is what the game ps4 is all about.its about winning and knowing a male personality is that they are very competitive.

Lighting
LIGHTING
This still image has examples of both low key and high key. The lighting used in this picture is called the under lighting. It included the women face which is very natural and realistic this is high key lighting. It also includes low key lighting which includes the shadows on her right side of her face. As the creator of this picture tries to create a scary and unusual vibe to the scene.

As the creator of this picture tries to create a scary and unusual vibe to the scene.
This still image is an example of low key lighting also it has back
lighting in too.the low key lighting creates the shadows to make the actress feel as she is not there and is like a ghost.then lastly they use back lighting to create a frightening feel about the woman.
In this still image they use high key lighting as well as top lighting but with top lighting and back lighting.to create shadows under the eyes of the actor by promoting him to be evil or devilish person who commits sins.
This still image has a use of low key lighting and also under lighting.
As the man has shadows covering half of his face which may suggest that he
has 2 personalities either a dark side or even more darker side.
This still image has a use of high key lighting and also top lighting to make her be more scary but with that in mind it makes her facial expression come out to see she is frightened.but also to make her look more glamorous,
This still image has a use of low key light as their is a contrast between the light of shadows and light.this image also is used for top lighting as the romantic scene looks more glamorous and sexy.
This still image has uses of under lighting and high key lighting. the light is coming from behind the actors to make them seem to be more powerful and important.
This still image is an example of low key lighting also it has back
lighting in too.the low key lighting creates the shadows to make the actress feel as she is not there and is like a ghost.
This still image is another example
of under lighting to create fear factor on this actor.also low key lighting is used in the picture as there is a mixture of light and dark.

Rbk advert
denotation, connotation, colour, pose, framing, composition, size, type of shot, subject matter, setting, lighting.
The poster is made for the audience to be interested in liking the rbk brand. So they got a rap artist whose 50 cent who most teenagers want to be like.the colour of the poster creates a very serious mood for the audience to take note on a moral or quote being shown.this is the setting shown.50 cents pose is very important has his eye contact with the audience this would mean a lot to them .being as he is the subject matter being involved with Reebok.the frame comes across the same as nike one as its trying to create a urban vibe for the audience.the quotes and the background of the fingerprints link as he believes he will never changed and is proud of what he is and this connotes with the fingerprints as you cant change your fingerprints same with him.The type of shot is a head-shot which gives us the chance to catch a glimpse oft he rap star and have eye contact. The denotation of this advert is a rap star declaring he will always be the same and encouraging his wide range of fans around the world to do the same and take on REEBOK.

Analysing 8 film posters
Harrison Ford blade runner:The first impression i get from the poster is that this film is based in the future and the gun connotes signs of violence. This then leads to us thinking that there's a Villain and a hero to save or rule the world. The genre of this film is a sci-fi thriller the futerastic frame and imagery connotes this as the skyline of a town is shown.and a type of gadget never see before in the middle.also the man,who could be a sign of him before the main character is holding a very abnormal gun .
The target audience is at the teenagers to early 30 year old. This is because of the violence this film shows it would be suitable for these ages.
Scary movie 2:
In this poster I can say that its a scary-comedy. I know this by analysing the tag line which says "Absolutely hilarious!".also with the background of the poster being dark and gloomy gives us the impression of being afraid by the facial expressions of the actors. I can tell by the poster this story will lead to just friends being haunted by some sort of bad spirit being not being real this film is in parody. The genre of this film comedy horror.by looking at the at poster using mise en scene.the facial expressions they appear scare at them same time funny as the t-shirts they are wearing.
the target audience is 18-35 as the jokes might be a bit too explicit also the jokes may not refer to a 40 year so wouldn't understand the concept of the film.
Sin City:
I can tell from the film poster that there will be a lot of bad things going to happen as there might be some sort of villian and hero also.as the title say sin city which sins are bad things you do.The actors positioning appears as they are ready for war.
The genre of this is crime thriller i can connote from the lighting and props. The darkness shows the dark and bad things going to happend. The guns pointed at the opposition imply they are fighting for something good or bad.could be either.
The target audience 14-35.most males because of the violence.
Million dollar baby:
From the poster I can say the the women in the central image is the main character.shes the million dollar baby she grew up into a women and means a lot to a organisation need to protect her so that's why the look after her back at the background. in addition to this the dark background connotes violence and bad action or some sort of crime.
The genre is action by the actors positioning you can tell that they are facing heavy competition and there will be deaths in this film.
I would say this film is 18 film as a female main character is appeared and do this would show a love interest for her. This will lead to sexual scene unsuitable for some people.furthermore this addition to this being an action film.so it would show blood from gun wounds .

Uzak:
From the poster I can say that this film will be adventurous story because of the character looking at the town gets us drawn to find out whether get ups to next.Furthermore you can tell from the main image the actor is on a mission or quest.
From the poster i feel that this film is adventure drama as the position he is eager to find something or someone from town.
I believe this film target audience is 13-35.the adventure will encounter violence i think so the age comes down.
I'm Not Scared:
From the cover i can see that the film is about a kid over coming his fears.By looking at the kid looking at the dark whole and the title being im not scared.suggests there also a moral at the end of story-line.the shot is from a overpowering one as that's the kids fear and it attracts the audience to see if he does overcome his fear.
The genre of this film could be a drama thriller.as its interesting and looks like it had lots of twists and turns in the film.also the film target audience is at 12-30 years of age.this could be suitable for young kids as they would enjoy the thrill of the story line. the moral of the story could be for them.
Bride & prejudice:
i thinks this film is two people who fall in love but realise it cant work because of the different cultures they are from.you can tell this by the symmetric image as the female is on one side with her culture and family and his culture behind him.so them 2 worlds clash to cause problem this in intrigues the audience .
I believe the genre is Bollywood romance.you can see that the two people on the main have a love interest and it them hard to make the relationship work as the people in the background are also involved which it makes it more hard for them.
i ranged the audience target to 15-35 teenagers getting into relationship may take a lesson from this and a lot of them can refer to this.
Pirates of the Caribbean:
I can say that this film is about pirates on the quest to find treasure and get in and out of trouble. Also get in a love interest. The bottom image of the sinking ship sums it up as they are in trouble about to die and showing that would just intrigue the audience. Also the main character is holding a pistol to show his about to go to war.
From the cover i can say this is a fictional adventure.with a bit of romance with the attractive actress on the poster.the facial expression of the characters show us that its of a serious film that is about life or death.but we know that might not be the case.
The target audience of this film 12-35 years of age because the violence in the film is not too explicit for kids. The pirates fans that enjoy treasure and getting in dangerous situation who enjoy that enjoy that Adrenalin rush to find out whats next.
Nike Print Advert/RBK advert

Media
analysis: ‘reading’ an image
Colour: Instantly we can see that the picture wastaken place in a rainy area which creates a sense of PATHETIC FALLACY, however the fact that the shoes and ball are bright and contrast to the background suggest that the main character in the image is trying to fulfil his dream or idealisations. Also the fact that the main character can not be seen suggest that he portrays all the emotion of many of us in society at the moment who are being put down by the upper-class dogs.
Framing:The lines at the top look like its coming from the model showing the skills the shoes are giving the model.the framing on the outside are urban as its from graffiti to indicate the target audience.to create a gritty urban feel about the advert as it is targeted to young males.
Composition: The model is on a football pitch with the font and weather shows that he is powerful with the shoes as he rules the court as he is the only one standing.the lines going up from his back in the background show he is special and he can do great things with the shoes.
Size:The model is slightly big for the advert as he is the main thing that will draw the audience.the court he is in also is enlarged as to see it that no one else is there.
Type of shot:The shot type is a medium shot.
Subject matter:the model doing the the freestyle kick ups to show the audience the new shoes and ball of nike.
Setting: The setting was in the outdoor where it was cold and cloudy in the a football cage.the model is doing kick ups there.same with the lighting not much lighting used to create that sort of cold feel about the picture so the shoes/product stands out.

Mise En Scene
Lucy the Film:
She is wearing the hospitals patients robe and has a gunshot
wound on her shoulder. She is in critical condition. This shows she couldn't
wait to handle this after she got out of hospital she had to do it now. There’s
a man there she is staring at angrily could be a sign of her having her
revenge. She just walked in so the setting could be the man’s office our
personal home so she’s invading it. The man in the chair has headphones on so
therefore he is comfortably relaxed and is not aware of her being there.Media consumption blog
